Man pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in death of 17-year-old: Portsmouth CA

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The suspect in the death of 17-year-old Jesse Hogg, Pharondus Clemon, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, and shooting and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to the Portsmouth Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney.

Evidence presented by the CA’s office showed Clemon, alongside other individuals, arranged a meeting with Hogg under the false pretense of buying marijuana on Dec. 21, 2022. During the encounter, one of the individuals tried to take Hogg’s gun away.

The Commonwealth’s Attorney further explains that Hogg tried to take out his gun as he backed away, in which Clemon admitted to shooting him. Clemon then put the guns in a book bag and hid them in the 4200 block of Griffin Street, where they were later recovered by police…
