Woman Charged With Selling 3 Vehicles Stored On Family Property

SELMA, N.C. — A Virginia woman is facing four felony charges after Johnston County investigators say she sold three vehicles that weren’t hers and pocketed the proceeds.

Jakie Marie Lipscomb, 48, of Virginia Beach, was arrested Dec. 4, 2025, by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say the case began in May 2024, shortly after the death of a relative who lived near Selma.

According to the sheriff’s office, several people had permission to store their vehicles on the relative’s property. After the relative died, Lipscomb allegedly contacted a local towing company, claimed the vehicles were hers, and arranged to sell them for $6,500.
