SMITHFIELD, Va. (WAVY) — The line for families to pick up a free holiday meal in the Smithfield Foods parking lot started early in the morning.
“We certainly know that hunger and food insecurity are significant issues here in the Hampton Roads community, and we saw that this morning with our neighbors lining up as early as 7 this morning for our distribution that started at 10,” said Jonathan Toms with Smithfield Foods.
