CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – A dog was reported dead Saturday morning after a residential fire in the 400 block of Oaklette Drive, according to Chesapeake Fire.
Crews arrived to the scene at 9:31 a.m. and reported heavy smoke showing from a one-story single-family residence. The fire had extended into the attic through the roof, causing significant structure damage to the residence.
Two dogs were in the residence. One was able to escape successfully while the other dog was reported dead. The fire was marked under control at 10:23 a.m. and no civilians or firefighters were injured…
