Around one acre burned after a brush fire on Grassfield Parkway in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Roughly one acre of land was burned after a brush fire on Grassfield Parkway in Chesapeake Sunday morning, according to the Chesapeake Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a brush fire in the 600 block of Grassfield Parkway at around 11:19 a.m. on Dec. 21. Using three engines, two brush trucks, a ladder and a rescue company, the crews brought the fire under control by around 12:30 p.m.

The fire was determined to have been caused by a lawnmower that a landscaping crew was using. No structures were involved.
