NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Families living at an Extended Stay America on Hornsby Lane in Newport News are scrambling to find housing just days before Christmas, as residents said they were told they must vacate the premises.
Residents of the hotel, some of whom have lived there for years, were initially issued a written notice from Extended Stay America Management stating they had until Jan. 28, 2026 to move out due to the building being sold to a new owner. However, several tenants say they were informed last week that the timeline had changed and they were required to leave right away.
