NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The City of Norfolk has activated its Winter Overflow Warning (WOW) program ahead of the temperature drop Monday night.
The Division Head of Housing and Homeless Services for the Norfolk Community Services Board, Carolsue McGehee, explained that since WOW is in place that means The Center on Tidewater is ready to take in anyone extra who needs shelter during this drop in temperature.
“When the city experiences colder weather, like we will be, starting [Monday night] and through most of the week, we’re given permission to bring in additional folks during our winter overflow warning nights when it gets below 32 degrees,” McGehee said…
