VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — For employees at London Bridge Greenhouses and Nursery, the search is always on for the right plants for customers who love to see things grow. But on Friday, general manager Ariana Tejada said one transaction just didn’t make sense after the biggest return day in retail.
“I just noticed the next day, counting money that we were over, a significant amount to us, you know, $50 is quite a bit when we’re only over or short within a dollar, said Tejada. The shock caused Tejada to turn to surveillance video, where she noticed the issue.
“It was two fifties that were just stuck together. Her order was about 70 some dollars. It was a $50, a $20, a couple of $1s and I was able to track down exactly who had the $50s that day. There were only a few cash transactions, so it was her,” said Tejada.
