NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Friends and family are remembering 34-year-old Lauren Zimmerman as funny and full of life after she was struck and killed in an auto-pedestrian crash on Jefferson Avenue just two days after Christmas.
Police responded to Jefferson Avenue shortly after 7 p.m. for reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle across from the James River Motel, where Zimmerman had been staying, according to her fiancé. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
