NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk Police believe the father of a 3-year-old who shot himself last week at the Sewell Park Apartments on Sheryl Drive is to blame for leaving his gun unsecured.
According to court documents, Zyquay Fulford, 21, bought a gun for his 21st birthday, and left it on a shelf in his bedroom, where, the next day, his 3-year-old son got his hands on the gun and shot himself in the head.
Officials said the child was taken to the Children’s Hospital for the King’s Daughters for non life-threatening injuries and is expected to be alright…
