VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC/CNN NEWSOURCE/WKRC) – A Navy aviation rescue swimmer jumped into action in Virginia Beach to save a woman trapped inside a sinking vehicle after it plunged into the water near a boat ramp.
Jeremy Way said he was having lunch at a nearby restaurant when he heard a loud crash and saw the SUV enter the water. Way and several others rushed to the scene and attempted to break the vehicle’s windows as water quickly filled the interior.
“I had already started pulling my wallet, my phone, my knife, out of my pocket, and once I realized that the car was about 15 meters in, I was like… I just jumped in,” Way said…
