Family frustrated after few details released on crash that killed a Virginia Beach man

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — He was everybody’s best friend. That’s how the Wade family of Virginia Beach remembers 66-year old David Wade, who was struck by a car at a Chesapeake gas station on South Military Highway last July and died.

His mother, and sister told 10 On Your Side he liked to joke and laugh and he was definitely the life of the party.

When 10 On Your Side interviewed his family three days after his death, family members had few details on how a car traveling along south Military Highway left the highway and struck Wade after he stopped by a vendor known as The Watermelon Man and his truck in a gas station parking lot. The vendor suffered minor injuries, according to police and Wade was mortally wounded.
