Late-night house fire displaces 4 people in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Four people were displaced after a late-night house fire in Portsmouth Friday, according to fire officials.

Crews with the Portsmouth Fire Department, along with Navy Regional Fire Rescue Hampton Roads and the Chesapeake Fire Department, responded to a house fire on Frailey Road around 11:30 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the home. Crews launched an aggressive attack and were able to contain the fire to the house, preventing it from spreading to nearby homes…
