Virginia Beach’s Rock Church to sell 5,000-seat sanctuary

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Rock Church International in Virginia Beach has announced plans to liquidate its 5,000-seat sanctuary located at 580 Kempsville Road. This sale supports their comprehensive fundraising strategy for a major renovation to transform their iconic dome-shaped building, known as Planet Rock, into a new state-of-the-art worship center.

This significant redevelopment project will repurpose the church’s original 2,500-seat sanctuary at 640 Kempsville Road into a facility designed to meet the needs of contemporary congregants. Rock Church International has served the local community since its dedication in 1997 and is a prominent entity in spiritual life and outreach within the region.
