Virginia Beach woman shares heart scare as Sentara cardiologist warns others to not ignore new symptoms

NORFOLK, Va. — Deanne Smith said she thought she knew what a heart emergency looked like– until it happened to her in a way she didn’t expect.

“January of ’08, I had a heart attack. They couldn’t figure out why because I had no blockages,” Smith said.
