Norfolk State Men Turn in Strong Showing at Indoor Pre-Nationals

VIRIGINA BEACH, Va. — Norfolk State University’s men’s track and field team turned in multiple top-10 finishes at the Indoor Pre-Nationals Feb. 13–14 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.

In the sprints, Kendrick Winfield placed fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 21.49 seconds, and Christopher Basking followed in sixth at 21.55 seconds. Antoinne Smith ran 6.84 seconds to finish 10th in the 60 meters. Donovan Terry earned eighth in the 400 meters at 48.59 seconds, while Winfield also competed to a 12th-place finish in 48.98.

Distance events featured standout performances from Daniel Mathenge, who took second in the 3,000 meters at 8:35.67. Lewis Too followed closely with a fourth-place finish in 8:37.20, Mathew Kipkoech placed sixth in 8:41.29, and Basil Koech earned eighth in 9:13.02…
