NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Virginia rapper experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when he received a co-sign from his favorite hip-hop artist following a freestyle.
In a now-viral clip, Marckel Bonds, whose stage name is KELO SOUL, rapped for J. Cole during the Virginia stop of his “Trunk Sale” tour. The Grammy Award-winning rapper drove around various cities in a Honda Civic to sell physical copies of his new album, “The Fall Off” for $1.
On Feb. 10, Cole tweeted he would be in Virginia, which included appearances on the campuses of Hampton and Norfolk State universities.
