Isle of Wight man experiences strange symptoms ahead of heart attack

ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Doctors want to make sure you know the signs of a heart attack, but sometimes, those warning signs can appear a bit abnormal, as in the case of one man who said he had an earache before suffering a major heart attack.

For a week, Brian Carroll couldn’t get rid of his earache.“Really from my ears to the top of my teeth, like sinuses. No jaw pain though,” said Brian Carroll of the Isle of Wight County Rescue Squad.

At one point, specifically at 2:30 a.m. Dec. 14, it woke him up. But by 4:45 a.m., he knew something was different. “The Lord said something’s not right,” Carroll said.

As chief of the Isle of Wight County Rescue Squad, he had his own EKG, and the results clearly showed he was having a heart attack…
