NORFOLK, Va. — Capt. Ray Glenn will assume command of Naval Station Norfolk as its 53rd commanding officer, relieving Capt. Matt Schlarmann during a ceremony on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Vista Point Conference Center onboard NAVSTA Norfolk.
Glenn previously served at Naval Station Norfolk as executive officer.
A native of Humboldt, Tennessee, Glenn enlisted in the Navy in 1992. After Recruit Training, he attended Naval Nuclear Field “A” School and Naval Nuclear Power School in Orlando, Florida, before reporting to his first sea tour aboard USS Frank Cable (AS 40)…
