Sixth victim identified in shooting on Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The Virginia Beach Police Department has identified a sixth victim in a shooting on Atlantic Avenue that previously injured five people Saturday evening.

According to officials, at approximately 9:52 p.m. on March 7, two individuals encountered each other in the 1800 block of Atlantic Avenue. The incident resulted in the two individuals pulling firearms and exchanging gunfire. Both shooters then fled the scene.

Six victims were left with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by gunfire. The department provided the following list of each victim involved in the shooting. Each of the victims’ names are currently unknown:

  • Female victim, 18, of Norfolk
  • Male victim, 19, of Suffolk
  • Male victim, 24, of Portsmouth
  • Male victim, 21, of Newport News
  • Male victim, 19, unknown
  • Male victim, 22, of New Kent County

Police are asking for the public’s help to locate and identify both suspects in this shooting.

According to Neudigate, the first suspect is a black male in his late teens to early 20s with dark skin and an afro. He was reportedly wearing black shoes and a red sweatshirt at the time of the shooting…
