WOODVILLE – Deputies with the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man at Dogwood Trails Nursing Home after discovering an out-of-state warrant for the suspect.
According to Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford, the suspect, Austin Wilson Salazar, a 25-year-old Woodville man, was accused of stealing a resident’s cellphone. Weatherford said when a deputy confronted Salazar about the incident, the deputy learned that the man was wanted in Norfolk, Virginia for a crime that occurred there.
A search of public records from the Virginia Judiciary revealed a litany of misdemeanor offenses and arrests for Salazar, but a violation of a felony offense probation from Sept. 2025…
