Man charged with multiple felonies after Monday police chase

NORFOLK, Va. — A man is facing multiple charges after Norfolk police say he fled from a traffic stop attempt and fired a gun at them.

The incident started around 12:50 a.m. Monday, Norfolk police said in a press release on Tuesday afternoon. Norfolk Police Department said officers attempted to make a traffic stop on a silver Honda in the 3300 block of Sewells Point Road for roadway violations. The driver of the Honda did not stop when police activated their lights and sirens, instead entering Interstate 64 near Norview Avenue.

Police say officers observed the driver shoot a firearm and “heard an unknown object hit the marked patrol vehicle.”…
