Tanker truck leak causes fuel spill in Suffolk intersection

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Approximately 30 gallons of fuel spilled into an intersection in Suffolk on Wednesday afternoon, according to Suffolk Fire & Rescue.

Suffolk Emergency Communications Center received a call for a fuel spill around 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of Holland Road and Manning Road.

Upon arrival, crews found a leak coming from a tanker truck. The truck driver stated that a faulty connection caused the hose to leak while they were refilling the underground fuel tank.

The leak was no longer active at approximately 12:55 p.m. Around 30 gallons of fuel had been spilled onto the roadway…
