Electrical extension cord sparks accidental blaze in Virginia Beach pool house

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach Fire Department and EMS units were dispatched at 5:47 a.m. Friday morning to a structure fire at 1300 Carolyn Drive in the Linlier neighborhood, according to officials.

Crews arrived at the scene at 5:53 a.m. and saw the heavy smoke that was visible from a detached two-story structure, pool house, located in the backyard behind the home.

Units quickly had water on the blaze at 6 a.m.

The blaze was marked under control at 6:14 a.m. and marked out at 8:22 a.m…
