PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Experts at UVA’s Weldon Cooper Center say Virginia’s population growth has slowed down and school enrollments are declining.
According to the center, Virginia’s population is still growing but at a slower rate than in the past. The reduced growth rate is shown through enrollment numbers in the commonwealth’s K-12 schools. 90 out of Virginia’s 131 divisions are seeing enrollment decline, says the Weldon Cooper Center.
