Fight and possible weapon lead to shelter-in-place at Currituck High School

BARCO, N.C. — A shelter-in-place order was briefly implemented at Currituck County High School on Friday afternoon following reports of an altercation outside the building and a possible weapon on campus, the school division said.

School officials and local police investigated the incident and determined there was no credible threat or evidence of a weapon. The campus returned to normal operations shortly before dismissal.
