Hampton man’s persistence wins him $100,000 playing the Virginia Lottery

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A Hampton man won a $100,000 prize in the Virginia Lottery after playing the same four-digit combination on 20 different tickets for the March 7 drawing. Prentice Douglas matched the winning numbers in the Pick 4 game to secure the total payout.

Douglas purchased the winning plays at the 7-Eleven located at 2610 Cunningham Drive in Hampton. Each of his 20 plays won a $5,000 prize, bringing his total winnings to $100,000. The top prize for a $1 Pick 4 play is typically $5,000.
