Wilkes-Barre Native Serves aboard one of the World’s Largest Warships

Ensign Stan Zaneski, a native of Wilkes- Barre, Pennsylvania, serves aboard USS George H.W. Bush, a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier operating out of Norfolk, Virginia.

Zaneski graduated from Wyoming Seminary in 2017. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communication management and design in 2021 and a Master of Business Administration with a focus on entertainment media management in 2022, both from Ithaca College.

“Growing up, I learned you’ll go as far as you work,” Zaneski said. “People can help you move forward in life, and connections are everything, but at the end of the day, going forward with what you’re passionate about in life will help you more. I’m from a small town where everyone knows everyone. My father was a huge part of the community, and I learned a lot from him about being sociable and talking to people. The Navy is big about that, having people from different backgrounds and in different rates and ranks working together. Being able to reach across the table and talk to everyone goes a long way. If you want to get anything done, it’s essential to communicate.”…
