HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Two brothers were found guilty of first-degree murder and other charges Friday in the death of 26-year-old Martez Corey, who was gunned down June 1, 2024 on Old Buckroe Road in Hampton as he sat on his cousin’s porch.
J.C. Butler, in addition to being found guilty of first-degree murder, was found guilty of three other charges, including conspiring to murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and the use of a firearm in the commission of murder. An earlier additional charge of possession of a gun by a convicted felon will be prosecuted in a separate proceeding.
