CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A fire in Chesapeake severely damaged a home on Fox Trail on Saturday night.
The fire in the 1000 block of Fox Trail, near the intersection with George Washington Highway South and near the parking for the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, was reported at 8:35 p.m. Multiple calls from passing motorists reported an RV parked next to a residence was on fire.
The fire extended to the home and progressed into the attic. Firefighters found conditions rapidly deteriorating, and they had to withdraw from the home and battle the blaze from outside. The fire was marked under control at 10:32 p.m…
