NNPD: Man stole from mall store, assaulted store employee

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News Police are looking for a man they said stole items from a Piercing Pagoda store at Patrick Henry Mall and assaulted a store employee earlier this month.

Newport News Police officers were dispatched at 7:40 p.m. April 4 to Banter by Piercing Pagoda at Patrick Henry Mall in reference to a larceny, according to officials.

An employee of the store reported that a man had entered the business at around 7 p.m. that night. The man asked the see the merchandise and assaulted the employee before leaving the business with the merchandise, according to police.

Police describe the man as thin, approximately 5-feet-6, and between 40 and 50 years old…
