Heavy police presence continues near Norfolk Premium Outlets as investigation into possible human remains expands

NORFOLK, Va. — More than 24 hours after police first received a call about possible human remains near the Norfolk Premium Outlets, that scene was still active, and had grown significantly.

According to a spokesperson with the Norfolk Police Department, officers were first called to area Friday evening after receiving a report that someone had discovered a possible human bone.

They were back on Saturday. 13News Now observed police units from both Virginia Beach and Norfolk, along with Virginia Beach Fire Department and forensics officers, working throughout the day Saturday in the wooded area just outside of the outlets. Investigators seemed focused on a particular area along the tree line bordering Miller Store Road, repeatedly entering and exiting through a single access point…
