NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY)– Police in Newport News announced that a private citizen is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest in a 2024 homicide case.
Kamron Thompson, 20, was shot and killed just before midnight on July 26, 2024 inside a small townhome community in the 500 block of Settlement Lane. Gunshot detection software indicated shots were fired in that area and when officers arrived, they found Thompson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Officials with the Newport News Police Department took to social media announcing a private citizen is now offering a cash reward of $4,400 for information that leads to an arrest. In order to be eligible for this private reward, tipsters cannot remain anonymous.
