Hampton man sentenced to nearly 4 years for firearm possession

HAMPTON, Va. — A Hampton man has been sentenced to three years and 10 months in prison after being convicted of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Court documents show that on Aug. 8, 2024, law enforcement saw 27-year-old Tre’Vonte Jermel Hunter leave a residence carrying a camouflage backpack before getting into a vehicle. At the time, Hunter also had an outstanding arrest warrant.

Officers stopped the vehicle, but Hunter ran on foot. He was later taken into custody…
