A baggage handler working at Norfolk International Airport in Virginia was arrested last month after allegedly stealing expensive items out of travelers’ luggage.
Portsmouth, Va. resident Sterlyn Southall was arrested on March 3 and has since been charged with four counts of grand larceny, according to court records reviewed by PEOPLE. The charges stem from two incidents dating back to Sept. 29 and Nov. 26 of last year.
Over the course of several months, multiple Spirit Airlines customers reported thefts of high-value items including Nike Air Jordan shoes, jewelry, watches, electronics and other goods, according to a search warrant obtained by local outlet WTKR.
