Keep Norfolk Beautiful hosts free recycling day for residents

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Keep Norfolk Beautiful will host its FREE “Norfolk Recycles Day” Special Waste Collection Event on Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The free drive-through and drop-off event will allow Norfolk residents to properly dispose of household hazardous waste, electronics, plastics and other materials at Azalea Baptist Church, located at 3314 E. Little Creek Rd.

Residents can bring items such as paint, batteries, pesticides, cooking and automotive oils and propane tanks for safe disposal. The event also offers secure, on-site shredding for personal documents and accepts used child safety seats for recycling. Proof of residency may be required to participate…
