PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Portsmouth Police are in the early stages of an investigation into a reported rape at IC Norcom High School, and while no one is yet facing charges, police are still looking at the accusation.
Police say the alleged incident took place on school grounds involving two students who school officials say either do not attend IC Norcom or are no longer enrolled in the school division. School officials say the families of the two students were contacted.
According to Portsmouth Public Schools’ chief communications officer, the incident reportedly took place after school in March. But school administration said they didn’t get that report until last week. From there, school officials launched their own investigation and contacted police to support their efforts…
