SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Dorothy (Earline) Bess Wells was found dead in a cul-de-sac on May 10, 1992, at around 8 a.m. Wells’ head had been bludgeoned, rendering her face unrecognizable.
That morning, police responded to Greenfield Crescent for a report of a body in the road. The neighborhood was under development with no homes yet, police say.
Officers located a deceased female, later identified as Wells. Police say that she had recently left her husband.
