2 teens shot, other victims in apparent Suffolk crime spree

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Two high school seniors, both 18 years old, were shot after 3 a.m. Saturday May 9 near a park on Nansemond Parkway in Suffolk, 10 days after one of the teens’ parents said their car was stolen.

“So we were getting drunk and, that was like kind of the whole point,” said Eric Marcotte Jr., one of the victims in a multi-faceted investigation, “and then, I just see a pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. By the third pop, my friend was like, Eric, we’re getting shot at.”

The teen was shot twice in the foot, while Eric Marcotte Jr.’s friend was shot in the chest. The bullet exited his shoulder and a second bullet struck his forearm. He is home, recovering from the injuries.

Eric Marcotte Jr.’s mother was also a victim. Her Kia was stolen from her home and then abandoned 10 days before the double shooting. The same Kia was reportedly stolen again from the family’s home early Tuesday morning, with a confrontation that could have turned deadly…
