Chesapeake, VA – A Norfolk Southern freight train tore through a septic truck at a railroad crossing in Chesapeake on Thursday afternoon, ripping the vehicle apart and scattering sewage and debris across Yadkin Road as emergency crews rushed to rescue the driver.
The violent collision happened in the 2900 block of Yadkin Road when the eastbound freight train struck the truck while it crossed the tracks, according to Chesapeake Police. The impact completely separated the truck’s cab from its septic tank, throwing both sections into a nearby ditch and spilling waste material across the roadway.
