VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — As concerns grow over infectious diseases making headlines around the world, hospital leaders at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital say preparation cannot wait until an outbreak begins.

The Virginia Beach hospital recently offered a rare inside look at its Level III isolation unit — a specialized facility originally built during the 2014 Ebola outbreak and designed to safely treat patients with highly contagious diseases while protecting healthcare workers and the broader hospital.
