NORFOLK, Va., (WAVY) — In an effort to better connect leadership structure to schools, increase accountability, responsiveness and support student success, Norfolk Public Schools has initiated a reorganization plan, which includes eliminating and restructuring some executive roles.
Superintendent Jeff Rose proposed a department reorganization at the May 20 school board meeting, and the school board unanimously approved the plan to immediately take effect.
“This alignment work is one important step in a much larger journey forward for Norfolk Public Schools, and I remain incredibly optimistic about the future of this division,” Superintendent Rose said. “Over these past months, I have seen the talent, pride, resilience and commitment that exist throughout Norfolk Public Schools and across this community. I believe deeply in the potential of our students, our employees, our schools and our city.”…
