Man robbed at knife point on Des Plaines

On May 25 at 9 p.m., police were dispatched to the 300 block of Des Plaines for a delayed armed robbery. At the scene, a man told police he was walking in the 7200 block of Washington when he was approached by two men with box cutter knives. They demanded his belongings and held a knife to his chest, so the man gave them his cell phone and bag before the two fled. At the time of the report, the two men hadn’t been identified.

DUI

Close to 1 a.m. on May 25, police pulled over a car in the 7500 block of Randolph for driving without headlights and hitting a curb. Police ran the license plate and found the car’s registration was suspended for insurance violations. Police pulled over the driver and reported that the car smelled of alcohol, that the driver had slurred speech, and was unable to provide valid insurance. Police tried to have the man perform standardized field sobriety tests, but he kept falling. He was taken to the police station, where his blood alcohol concentration was 0.22. He was charged with driving under the influence, having a BAC over 0.08, driving without lights, improper lane usage, operating a car with suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle…
