Chicago police are searching for a man they say attacked a 25-year-old woman aboard a CTA Blue Line train on the city’s West Side. According to police, the confrontation unfolded at about 1:44 a.m. on May 25 as the train passed through the 700 block of South Cicero Avenue. Investigators say the man first threw objects at the rider before the clash turned physical. Authorities have not released additional information about the woman’s injuries or whether any charges have been approved as the case remains under investigation.
What police say
According to FOX 32 Chicago, detectives described the suspect as a Black man with black hair and a goatee, last seen wearing a blue windbreaker, black pants and light-colored shoes. FOX 32 Chicago reports that police say the woman stabbed the man with a sharp object during the altercation. Investigators are reviewing camera footage and interviewing witnesses as they work to piece together what happened inside the train car.
