Vehicle hits building, flees

An employee at Casa De Montecristo, 1332 W. 55th St., reported a black BMW SUV backed into the building while exiting a parking spot and left the scene around 5 p.m. May 29.

After the offending vehicle was identified and the registered owner contacted, the owner made arrangements with the business to repair the damage.

Hit and run at fitness business

A woman reported her vehicle was struck while parked at LA Fitness, 5918 S. La Grange Road, between 5:15 and 7:05 p.m. May 29. The back bumper and driver’s side taillight were damaged.

$4,000 plumbing press stolen from trailer

A man entered a trailer parked in the 1200 block of West Plainfield Road and stole a Milwaukee plumbing press valued at about $4,000 at 3:53 p.m. May 31.

The offender was wearing dark pants and a dark T-shirt. He fled in an older Chrysler minivan not displaying license plates, the victim told police.
