The Chicago area is going to have to deal with a soggy Sunday, but dry conditions and pleasant temperatures are on the way as summer officially gets underway.
The summer solstice took place early Sunday morning in the Northern Hemisphere, but the longest day of the year in the city of Chicago unfortunately won’t be a sunny one, as persistent rain is expected for most of the day across the region.
The heaviest of the rain is expected to fall in areas along and south of Interstate 80, but there will be plenty of rain elsewhere as the National Weather Service says anywhere from 1-to-2 inches of rain will fall during the day Sunday, though some locations could see higher amounts, according to forecast models…
