NEAR WEST SIDE — On a recent Friday afternoon, a crowd of regulars gathered outside of Jim’s Original. Kevin Harper, a patron of 45 years, was among them.
Harper works in the area and comes to the popular hot dog stand at 1250 S. Union Ave. twice a week.
“I’ll get the Polish sausage, pork chop sandwich or sometimes a hot dog,” he said. “The price has gone up, but you still get a good bang for your buck.”…
