‘Serial mail thief’ sentenced for burglaries of Cook County condos, apartments

A “serial mail thief” was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to two counts of felony burglary after stealing mail from apartment and condo buildings in Cook County, the United States Postal Inspection Service announced on Tuesday.

Veronia Cavallari, a 30-year-old woman from Chicago, was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after she pleaded guilty to two counts of felony burglary earlier this month, USPIS said.

A joint investigation by USPIS and the Chicago Police Department identified Cavallari as the person responsible for car thefts and multiple burglaries inside condo and apartment buildings on the North Side of Chicago and in northern Cook County, USPIS said…
