CHICAGO (WGN) — A juvenile convicted in the July 2024 shooting death of a Chicago postal worker has learned how many years he will spend behind bars, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office announced on Wednesday.
A Cook County judge sentenced the minor to five years inside the Department of Juvenile Justice. The sentencing comes weeks after the minor pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the killing of 48-year-old Octavia Redmon, a five-year mail carrier for USPS, on June 3.
