A Monday morning near Orland Square Mall turned tragic when a multi-vehicle crash left a 66-year-old pedestrian dead and several others injured, turning one of Orland Park’s busiest commercial corridors into a long-running emergency scene.
Police have identified the man killed as Antoni Luczynski, 66, of Palos Hills, according to Patch. The crash happened just before 11 a.m. Monday at 149th Street and LaGrange Road, near Orland Square Mall. Investigators said Luczynski was struck after one of the vehicles involved in the collision left the roadway.

What began as a serious traffic crash soon grew into a larger response involving police, fire officials, damaged vehicles, injured occupants, and a closed intersection.
Police initially reported that three vehicles were involved but later clarified that four vehicles were involved in the crash. Fire officials said three vehicles sustained heavy damage.
